Gold declines after modest dollar gains

Gold fell for a fifth day in Asia as the dollar traded near a two-week high against the euro and crude oil fell, eroding the metal's appeal as a hedge against inflation. The dollar also rose versus the yen after Federal Reserve Chairman Ben S. Bernanke said the central bank may extend its emergency-loan program for securities firms into next year. Gold fell 2.7 percent in the past four days. Gold currently trading at $925.75
