Saxo Bank Japan launches Index-tracking and Commodity CFDs on its retail platform
New securities license acknowledges commitment to provide best execution to the market

Saxo Bank FX K.K., the Tokyo-based division of Saxo Bank Group, has today announced the availability of two new services, Index-tracking CFDs and Commodity CFDs. With Index-tracking CFDs, retail investors can easily trade CFDs against an entire index on real-time prices. From today, clients in Japan can also use Commodity CFDs, employing leveraged commodity trading with reduced collateral. Both services are now available through Saxo Bank’s trading platforms, SaxoWebTrader, SaxoTrader and SaxoMobileTrader.

Saxo Bank FX K.K., whose retail business was launched one year ago, is now also a member of the Japan Securities Dealers Association (JSDA). The Association, which acts as a self-regulatory organiaation and as a trade association in the Japanese securities market, comprises more than 500 members consisting of securities firms and other financial institutions operating securities businesses. Saxo Bank is one of the less than 30 foreign institutions whose application for membership with the Association has been granted.

Wataru Kojima, Representative Director at Saxo Bank FX K.K. comments: "This has been a fantastic first year for our retail offering, and the addition of two new services will offer even more choice and flexibility to trade on our platform. Furthermore, our commitment to providing the best possible service to our clients has now been officially acknowledged by becoming a member of the JSDA. This accolade reinforces our plans to continue to extend our services in the next couple of months."

Index-tracking CFDs are linked to the performance of a stock market index and can be short sold. Saxo Bank offers Double Leverage on all Index-tracking CFDs as well as access to over 16 Index-tracking CFD trading opportunities across more than 23 exchanges worldwide.

Commodity CFDs represent a simple alternative to trading commodities on the Futures exchanges which can be prohibitive with lot sizes and high collateral requirements restricting the trader's ability to engage in a trade. Commodity CFDs offer direct exposure to the underlying commodity and introduce greater flexibility.
