Personally I find those offline seminar too expensive for me and I usually go for online course that are more affordable.

In fact, you can get some for as low as $300 and they deliver results. However there are also a lot scam product online, therefore you need to be careful in choosing the course.

    Hey Collegeboy,

Good question. You're not nuts- that's the way to go. The problem with books is that they're subject to interpretation and don't have all the answers. A mentor can steer you back in the right direction when you go off course, and can understand and address your concerns. He can tell you that you will lose 80% of your account if you keep doing what you're doing. Depending on how big your account is, it might be worth the investment.

There's a lot of both free and paid strategies around, but let's face it they're just tools. You need to learn how to master tools in order to use them successfully. And furthermore, many of the tools out there are junk and/or have only worked in hindsight.

I know the author of "Bird Watching in Lion Country." Dirk is an excellent trader and really devotes time to aspiring traders and deprograms all of the bad habits/assumptions they have about the market.

As for me: I went from just watching charts and thinking that I could watch for patterns and profit from them, then spent years and thousands of dollars on courses, skipping from system to system. I eventually made a point to find professional traders at banks and hedge funds who's living depended on them making profits and put strategies together from some of their hints and advice. Only then did I believe in what I was doing, stuck with it for several years, and became profitable.

    Hope this helps,

    Kris

It seems that the costs are somewhat high anywhere from 1200-7500 to learn forex at the professional level.

Does this seem high or can anyone on here talk about what type of learning they went thru to become a profit player in forex ????

it seems that learn:forex.com and the Author who wrote Bird watching in lion country, seem to be the most Non scamming group out there.

Any Input on this matter would help.

Why to pay when you learn it for free, go for blogs and forums where the traders share their experiences with trading.

Thanks for a very useful info. I've used some literature about the MT, but it doesn't help to trade on practice. Maybe this is my laziness, but there are only talks about. Has anyone faced with such a problem, when you are trading and suddenly, GBP goes down for 800!!! pip in 3 hours? I mean, what the hell?? Such things have ruined my account 3 times already... Meanwhile, I've solved my problem with proper information. At least some stable income is day to day going to my account.
