So it's a question of individual trading style? And one isn't objectively better than the other?

Depending on what type of personality you are you will choose either short-term or long-term trading. Once you make that decision the rest is easy. use fundamental for short-term and technical for long-term.

Absolutely, know the personality of the currency you are trading. Each currency pair has its own individual "personality". This can be in terms of volatility, spread, average daily range, liquidity, specific patterns etc. Use trading strategies that go hand in hand with the characteristics of the currency pair.

    Default Currency personalities

    Hello,

Since Somya mentioned personality I thought I'd share a recent article that I came across regarding currency "personalities." http://www.gaincapital.com/files/CurrencyTrader0905-BD.pdf

    Happy trading to all,

    Kris Matthews

Fundamental Analysis needs years of practice of trading to read the analysis accurately. With the supports of computers it is easy to make technical analysis based trades, but at the same moment fundamental analysis should always be kept into consideration.

I agree with Lisa here. All this depends on the trading style you choose.
