My opinion, we can trade fundamental for short term. We can win and we can lose just an a minute.
Technical, we can trade long term. We can forcast predict the market.

B) Technical. Fundamentals are too confusing eg. Fed increases rate: USD Bull / another time Fed increases rate: USD Bear. I dunno how to analyze... the same applies to the respective central banks... If you know how, pls teach me. :P
I find that if I read too much of fundamentals, I won't be able to make any logical trading decision...

Technical trading has an edge over fundamental trading. Technical analysis uses charts to present graphical representation of the market over and to identify the pattern of price movements. Technical analysis chart includes moving averages, oscillators, candlestick charts, Bollinger bands, Fibonacci levels and many more.

I guess its Fundamental analysis for long term traders (investors) and Technical analysis for short term traders (speculators).

Hi ya. I am sometimes confused by the definition of "fundamentals" and "technicals"
Consider the followings....what are they? Fundamentals? Technicals?
And they are effective only in certain timeframes
1. Stats news like NFP, CPI, etc etc
2. News events like Bailout, Lehman bankrupcy, etc
3. COT data
4. Oil prices data
5. Historical prices of the currency pair (Long term charts)
6. Non finance news like elections, war, disaster
7. Seasonal, like Year Ends, Holidays etc.
8. Speeches from Central Bankers (Trichet, Bernarke, Guither...)
The list is not exhaustive... but i think you guys know what I am trying to say.....
Can a trader be exclusively Fundamental or technical?

Fundamental analysis is the study of the financial condition of a publicly traded company. When you visit a financial website such as MSN Money, Yahoo Finance or CBS Market Watch and enter a stock symbol, the information that will be displayed is mostly fundamental criteria.

The fundamentalist studies the cause of market movement, while the technician studies the effect. You don’t have to become an expert on both styles, but it would be good if you could understand them both, at leat the basics so you can make the choice in which one are you gonna use.
