Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Investment Trust, Beverages & Tobacco and Diversified Holdings sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share lost 0.04%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB), which rose 14.29% or 0.1000 points to trade at 0.8000 at the close. Meanwhile, Serendib Hotels PLC (CM:SHOT) added 11.59% or 2.70 points to end at 26.00 and Lanka Ventures PLC (CM:LVEN) was up 11.55% or 5.80 points to 56.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Serendib Land PLC (CM:SLND), which fell 23.74% or 351.70 points to trade at 1130.00 at the close. Indo Malay PLC (CM:INDO) declined 16.05% or 229.50 points to end at 1200.10 and Agalawatte Plantations PLC (CM:AGAL) was down 13.64% or 3.00 points to 19.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 83 to 82 and 64 ended unchanged.
Shares in Serendib Land PLC (CM:SLND) fell to 52-week lows; falling 23.74% or 351.70 to 1130.00. Shares in Lanka Ventures PLC (CM:LVEN) rose to all time highs; up 11.55% or 5.80 to 56.00.
Crude oil for September delivery was up 0.04% or 0.02 to $49.06 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.41% or 0.21 to hit $51.70 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.11% or 1.36 to trade at $1258.64 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.17% to 201.125, while USD/LKR rose 0.03% to 153.740.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.17% at 93.61.
