Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Information Technology, Services and Palm Oil sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share declined 0.25%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were First Capital Holdings PLC (CM:CFVF), which rose 24.70% or 6.20 points to trade at 31.30 at the close. Meanwhile, Dunamis Capital PLC (CM:CSEC) added 16.60% or 3.90 points to end at 27.40 and Multi Finance PLC (CM:MULT) was up 15.08% or 1.90 points to 14.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Kalamazoo Systems PLC (CM:KZOO), which fell 22.82% or 280.90 points to trade at 950.00 at the close. Eden Hotel Lanka PLC (CM:EDEN) declined 11.76% or 2.00 points to end at 15.00 and Palm Garden Hotels PLC (CM:PALM) was down 10.11% or 3.60 points to 32.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 94 to 80 and 59 ended unchanged.
Shares in Kalamazoo Systems PLC (CM:KZOO) fell to 52-week lows; losing 22.82% or 280.90 to 950.00.
Crude oil for October delivery was up 1.05% or 0.47 to $45.30 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 1.18% or 0.56 to hit $47.82 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.12% or 1.65 to trade at $1352.35 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.11% to 193.675, while USD/LKR fell 0.73% to 144.360.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.01% at 94.81.
