Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Trading & Consumer Goods, Optoelectronic and Rubber sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted rose 0.37%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Coadna (TW:4984), which rose 9.94% or 6.90 points to trade at 76.30 at the close. Meanwhile, Biostar (TW:2399) added 9.89% or 0.82 points to end at 9.11 and Ritek (TW:2349) was up 9.73% or 0.320 points to 3.610 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Aoc (TW:6289), which fell 7.58% or 0.100 points to trade at 1.220 at the close. Mirle Auto (TW:2464) declined 4.14% or 1.75 points to end at 40.55 and Reward Wool In (TW:1423) was down 3.56% or 0.24 points to 6.50.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 424 to 316 and 112 ended unchanged.
Shares in Biostar (TW:2399) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 9.89% or 0.82 to 9.11. Shares in Ritek (TW:2349) rose to 52-week highs; rising 9.73% or 0.320 to 3.610.
Crude oil for September delivery was up 0.09% or 0.04 to $43.17 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 0.22% or 0.10 to hit $45.23 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.06% or 0.75 to trade at $1326.45 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.14% to 32.095, while TWD/CNY rose 0.14% to 0.2081.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.26% at 97.03.
