Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Oil, Gas & Electricity, Trading & Consumer Goods and Electronic Parts/Components sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted added 0.48%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Infodisc Tech (TW:2491), which rose 9.93% or 0.71 points to trade at 7.86 at the close. Meanwhile, Alpha Networks (TW:3380) added 9.93% or 2.10 points to end at 23.25 and Inventec Besta (TW:8201) was up 9.91% or 1.05 points to 11.65 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Right Way Ind (TW:1506), which fell 5.01% or 1.00 points to trade at 18.95 at the close. Pal Wonn Taiwan Co Ltd (TW:2429) declined 4.89% or 0.75 points to end at 14.60 and Hong Ho Precis (TW:1446) was down 4.78% or 1.05 points to 20.90.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 513 to 264 and 100 ended unchanged.
Shares in Inventec Besta (TW:8201) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 9.91% or 1.05 to 11.65.
Crude oil for April delivery was down 0.08% or 0.04 to $48.36 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in May fell 0.02% or 0.01 to hit $51.34 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.10% or 1.25 to trade at $1201.85 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.04% to 30.948, while TWD/CNY rose 0.04% to 0.2232.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.13% at 101.39.
