Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Oil, Gas & Electricity, Electronic Parts/Components and Semiconductor sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted added 2.81%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Leadtrend (TW:3588), which rose 10.00% or 3.60 points to trade at 39.60 at the close. Meanwhile, Htc Corp (TW:2498) added 9.96% or 7.50 points to end at 82.80 and Ace Pillar (TW:8374) was up 9.90% or 1.50 points to 16.65 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Mosel (TW:2342), which fell 4.90% or 0.120 points to trade at 2.330 at the close. Sumagh High-Te (TW:1475) declined 4.29% or 0.45 points to end at 10.05 and Aoc (TW:6289) was down 3.91% or 0.050 points to 1.230.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 581 to 168 and 97 ended unchanged.
Shares in Leadtrend (TW:3588) rose to 52-week highs; rising 10.00% or 3.60 to 39.60. Shares in Ace Pillar (TW:8374) rose to 52-week highs; rising 9.90% or 1.50 to 16.65.
Crude oil for November delivery was up 1.74% or 0.76 to $44.38 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 1.68% or 0.77 to hit $46.54 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.69% or 9.05 to trade at $1319.25 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.85% to 31.425, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.00% to 0.2096.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.21% at 95.85.
