Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the , Glass and Other Electronic sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted lost 0.37%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Lung Hwa Electronics Co Ltd (TW:2424), which rose 10.00% or 2.70 points to trade at 29.70 at the close. Meanwhile, Green Seal Holding Ltd (TW:1262) added 9.97% or 6.20 points to end at 68.40 and Microtek International Inc (TW:2305) was up 8.65% or 0.82 points to 10.30 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Lelon Electronics Corp (TW:2472), which fell 7.79% or 5.00 points to trade at 59.20 at the close. Sintronic Technology Inc (TW:3536) declined 6.29% or 1.35 points to end at 20.10 and Ace Pillar Co Ltd (TW:8374) was down 5.57% or 1.65 points to 27.95.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 513 to 252 and 115 ended unchanged.
Shares in Microtek International Inc (TW:2305) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 8.65% or 0.82 to 10.30.
Crude oil for February delivery was up 0.35% or 0.20 to $57.42 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 0.27% or 0.17 to hit $63.58 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.12% or 1.50 to trade at $1267.00 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.11% to 29.973, while TWD/CNY rose 0.05% to 0.2205.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.02% at 93.21.
