Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the , Auto and Rubber sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted fell 0.26% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Candmark (TW:5259), which rose 9.63% or 0.18 points to trade at 2.05 at the close. Meanwhile, Mosel (TW:2342) added 8.63% or 0.24 points to end at 3.02 and Shuttle (TW:2405) was up 8.43% or 0.75 points to 9.65 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Faraday Tech (TW:3035), which fell 10.00% or 4.20 points to trade at 37.80 at the close. Hsin Ba Ba (TW:9906) declined 9.97% or 1.80 points to end at 16.25 and Siward Crystal (TW:2484) was down 9.47% or 1.80 points to 17.20.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 440 to 309 and 101 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for June delivery was down 0.83% or 0.37 to $43.95 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 0.56% or 0.25 to hit $44.76 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 0.65% or 8.25 to trade at $1280.55 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.12% to 32.413, while TWD/CNY rose 0.10% to 0.2003.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.04% at 93.69.
