Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the , Electronic Parts/Components and Optoelectronic sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted lost 0.57%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Gourmet Master (TW:2723), which rose 9.86% or 17.00 points to trade at 189.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Yon Yu Plastic (TW:1323) added 9.81% or 2.30 points to end at 25.75 and Azurewave (TW:3694) was up 7.75% or 1.10 points to 15.30 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Chien Shing Ss (TW:2025), which fell 10.00% or 0.28 points to trade at 2.52 at the close. Delta Electron (TW:2308) declined 7.60% or 13.00 points to end at 158.00 and Chang Type (TW:1541) was down 7.30% or 3.60 points to 45.70.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 555 to 286 and 2 ended unchanged.
Shares in Chien Shing Ss (TW:2025) fell to all time lows; losing 10.00% or 0.28 to 2.52.
Crude oil for October delivery was up 0.39% or 0.17 to $44.17 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to hit $47.35 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.05% or 0.50 to trade at $1107.20 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.38% to 32.588, while TWD/CNY fell 0.15% to 0.1954.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.07% at 95.45.
