Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the , Cement and Cement & Glass sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted declined 1.12%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were China Tv (TW:9928), which rose 9.80% or 0.49 points to trade at 5.49 at the close. Meanwhile, Candmark (TW:5259) added 9.69% or 0.19 points to end at 2.15 and Evertop Wire (TW:1616) was up 9.56% or 0.480 points to 5.500 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Tatung Co Ltd (TW:2371), which fell 8.27% or 0.70 points to trade at 7.76 at the close. Action Eltr (TW:3024) declined 7.83% or 0.540 points to end at 6.360 and Pan Intl Ind (TW:2328) was down 5.19% or 1.60 points to 29.25.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 540 to 226 and 84 ended unchanged.
Shares in Evertop Wire (TW:1616) rose to 52-week highs; up 9.56% or 0.480 to 5.500.
Crude oil for November delivery was down 1.21% or 0.58 to $47.25 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 1.33% or 0.66 to hit $49.15 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.07% or 0.95 to trade at $1326.95 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.01% to 31.364, while TWD/CNY fell 0.05% to 0.2123.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.04% at 95.47.
