Investing.com – Greece stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Travel, Media and Retail sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite lost 1.41%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Athens Medical (AT:AMCr), which rose 9.30% or 0.120 points to trade at 1.410 at the close. Meanwhile, Nireus Aqua (AT:NIRr) added 2.78% or 0.005 points to end at 0.178 and J. & P. Avax (AT:AVAr) was up 1.20% or 0.004 points to 0.296 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr), which fell 7.07% or 0.054 points to trade at 0.710 at the close. Attica Bank SA (AT:BOAr) declined 6.02% or 0.007 points to end at 0.106 and Public Power (AT:DEHr) was down 5.71% or 0.08 points to 1.32.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 70 to 26 and 23 ended unchanged.
Shares in J. & P. Avax (AT:AVAr) rose to 52-week lows; rising 1.20% or 0.004 to 0.296.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.02% or 0.25 to $1314.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 3.02% or 1.63 to hit $52.38 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 2.07% or 1.30 to trade at $61.39 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.04% to 1.1356, while EUR/GBP fell 0.27% to 0.8758.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.05% at 96.203.
