Investing.com – Malaysia stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Property, Mining and Construction sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Kuala Lumpur, the FTSE Malaysia KLCI added 0.03%.
The best performers of the session on the FTSE Malaysia KLCI were Sapurakencana Petroleum Bhd (KL:SKPE), which rose 8.33% or 0.20 points to trade at 2.60 at the close. Meanwhile, IHH Healthcare Bhd (KL:IHHH) added 1.78% or 0.10 points to end at 5.72 and PPB Group Bhd (KL:PEPT) was up 1.27% or 0.20 points to 16.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were YTL Corporation Bhd (KL:YTLS), which fell 1.81% or 0.03 points to trade at 1.63 at the close. Genting Bhd (KL:GENT) declined 1.33% or 0.12 points to end at 8.88 and Telekom Malaysia Bhd (KL:TLMM) was down 1.33% or 0.10 points to 7.40.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange by 59 to 44 and 1 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for May delivery was up 1.61% or 0.86 to $54.15 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 1.53% or 0.92 to hit $60.73 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 0.23% or 2.70 to trade at $1189.90 a troy ounce.
SGD/MYR was up 0.64% to 2.7160, while USD/MYR rose 0.22% to 3.7065.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.45% at 99.45.
