Investing.com – Malaysia stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Technology, Industrial Products and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Kuala Lumpur, the FTSE Malaysia KLCI lost 0.35%.
The best performers of the session on the FTSE Malaysia KLCI were Sapurakencana Petroleum Bhd (KL:SKPE), which rose 2.55% or 0.07 points to trade at 2.81 at the close. Meanwhile, Bumiputra - Commerce Holdings Bhd (KL:CIMB) added 1.02% or 0.06 points to end at 5.95 and Genting Bhd (KL:GENT) was up 0.89% or 0.08 points to 9.08 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were MISC Bhd (KL:MISC), which fell 3.04% or 0.27 points to trade at 8.62 at the close. Petronas Chemicals Group Bhd (KL:PCGB) declined 2.83% or 0.17 points to end at 5.83 and Kuala Lumpur Kepong Bhd (KL:KLKK) was down 1.79% or 0.40 points to 22.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange by 283 to 191 and 33 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for June delivery was up 2.46% or 1.49 to $61.88 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 2.19% or 1.48 to hit $69.00 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 0.24% or 2.90 to trade at $1190.30 a troy ounce.
SGD/MYR was down 0.16% to 2.6873, while USD/MYR fell 0.43% to 3.5701.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.17% at 95.11.
