Investing.com – Nigeria stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Food, Beverages & Tobacco, Insurance and Banking sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lagos, the NSE 30 lost 0.17%.
The best performers of the session on the NSE 30 were Zenithbank (LAGOS:ZENITHB), which rose 2.75% or 0.60 points to trade at 22.40 at the close. Meanwhile, Guiness Nig (LAGOS:GUINNES) added 1.22% or 0.95 points to end at 79.00 and Total Nig (LAGOS:TOTAL) was up 1.09% or 2.00 points to 185.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Wapco (LAGOS:WAPCO), which fell 7.83% or 1.80 points to trade at 21.20 at the close. Unilever Nig (LAGOS:UNILEVE) declined 7.44% or 3.35 points to end at 41.65 and Uacn Prop (LAGOS:UACN) was down 3.74% or 0.40 points to 10.30.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lagos by 51 to 33 and 15 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for November delivery was down 2.25% or 1.72 to $74.69 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 1.46% or 1.26 to hit $85.03 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.08% or 1.00 to trade at $1201.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/NGN was down 0.47% to 417.430, while USD/NGN unchanged 0.00% to 363.000.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.16% at 95.52.
