Investing.com – Poland stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Chemicals and Oil & Gas sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 gained 1.85%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Synthos SA (WA:SNS), which rose 5.47% or 0.250 points to trade at 4.820 at the close. Meanwhile, PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna SA (WA:PGE) added 4.42% or 0.54 points to end at 12.77 and LPP SA (WA:LPPP) was up 3.65% or 245.00 points to 6955.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE), which fell 1.37% or 0.050 points to trade at 3.590 at the close. Kernel Holding SA (WA:KER) declined 0.31% or 0.20 points to end at 65.10 and Powszechny Zaklad Ubezpieczen SA (WA:PZU) was up 0.02% or 0.01 points to 43.98.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 259 to 238 and 175 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for August delivery was up 1.22% or 0.55 to $45.59 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.84% or 0.40 to hit $47.92 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.47% or 5.74 to trade at $1220.44 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.09% to 4.2336, while USD/PLN rose 0.36% to 3.7093.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.06% at 95.55.
