Investing.com – Poland stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Energy and Chemicals sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 lost 0.08%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Boryszew SA (WA:BORY), which rose 3.97% or 0.24 points to trade at 6.28 at the close. Meanwhile, TVN SA (WA:TVN) added 3.01% or 0.52 points to end at 17.80 and Enea SA (WA:ENAE) was up 1.96% or 0.32 points to 16.62 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Eurocash SA (WA:EUR), which fell 2.69% or 1.05 points to trade at 37.95 at the close. Energa SA (WA:ENGP) declined 2.01% or 0.48 points to end at 23.45 and Lubelski Wegiel Bogdanka SA (WA:LWBP) was down 1.94% or 1.70 points to 86.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 309 to 244 and 105 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for June delivery was down 1.99% or 1.21 to $59.72 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in June fell 2.00% or 1.35 to hit $66.42 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 0.63% or 7.50 to trade at $1182.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.14% to 4.0515, while USD/PLN rose 0.67% to 3.5900.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.54% at 94.70.
