Investing.com – Poland stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Banking and Energy sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 fell 0.28%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were LPP SA (WA:LPPP), which rose 2.77% or 196.45 points to trade at 7290.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Gornictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA (WA:PGN) added 2.33% or 0.15 points to end at 6.58 and Eurocash SA (WA:EUR) was up 1.72% or 0.65 points to 38.45 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE), which fell 2.37% or 0.10 points to trade at 4.12 at the close. Powszechny Zaklad Ubezpieczen SA (WA:PZU) declined 1.74% or 7.85 points to end at 443.35 and KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA:KGH) was down 1.46% or 1.50 points to 101.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 305 to 235 and 118 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for August delivery was up 1.26% or 0.66 to $52.86 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.74% or 0.43 to hit $58.58 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.07% or 0.80 to trade at $1154.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.14% to 4.1315, while USD/PLN fell 0.24% to 3.7528.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.10% at 96.84.
