Investing.com – Poland stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Chemicals, Banking and Food sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 lost 0.34%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE), which rose 3.09% or 0.100 points to trade at 3.340 at the close. Meanwhile, Powszechny Zaklad Ubezpieczen SA (WA:PZU) added 1.41% or 0.52 points to end at 37.27 and Cyfrowy Polsat SA (WA:CPS) was up 0.99% or 0.24 points to 24.38 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Synthos SA (WA:SNS), which fell 4.84% or 0.280 points to trade at 5.500 at the close. Kernel Holding SA (WA:KER) declined 2.54% or 1.80 points to end at 69.00 and Energa SA (WA:ENGP) was down 2.53% or 0.26 points to 10.02.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 273 to 267 and 188 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for May delivery was up 0.97% or 0.50 to $52.20 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 0.64% or 0.35 to hit $55.24 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 1.14% or 14.35 to trade at $1267.65 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.38% to 4.2176, while USD/PLN fell 0.13% to 3.9722.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.20% at 100.81.
