Investing.com – Poland stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Media, Chemicals and Energy sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 fell 0.45%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were LPP SA (WA:LPPP), which rose 2.59% or 202.00 points to trade at 7997.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Asseco Poland SA (WA:ACPP) added 1.49% or 0.86 points to end at 58.65 and Powszechny Zaklad Ubezpieczen SA (WA:PZU) was up 0.62% or 2.85 points to 464.85 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Cyfrowy Polsat SA (WA:CPS), which fell 2.95% or 0.76 points to trade at 24.99 at the close. mBank SA (WA:MBK) declined 2.35% or 11.00 points to end at 456.60 and ING Bank Śląski SA (WA:INGP) was down 2.10% or 3.10 points to 144.40.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 280 to 280 and 94 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for July delivery was down 1.65% or 1.00 to $59.72 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 1.80% or 1.20 to hit $65.34 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 0.15% or 1.80 to trade at $1205.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.16% to 4.1033, while USD/PLN rose 0.84% to 3.7190.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.71% at 96.14.
