Investing.com – Poland stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Chemicals, Telecoms and Basic Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 lost 0.88%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW), which rose 4.22% or 1.89 points to trade at 46.69 at the close. Meanwhile, Kernel Holding SA (WA:KER) added 1.54% or 0.95 points to end at 62.65 and Powszechny Zaklad Ubezpieczen SA (WA:PZU) was up 0.53% or 0.15 points to 28.35 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Gornictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA (WA:PGN), which fell 3.38% or 0.18 points to trade at 5.15 at the close. KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA:KGH) declined 3.36% or 2.64 points to end at 75.87 and Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP) was down 3.15% or 2.09 points to 64.20.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 315 to 223 and 172 ended unchanged.
Shares in Kernel Holding SA (WA:KER) rose to 3-years highs; rising 1.54% or 0.95 to 62.65.
Crude oil for October delivery was up 3.74% or 1.70 to $47.20 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 3.48% or 1.67 to hit $49.65 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.57% or 7.65 to trade at $1341.55 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.03% to 4.3208, while USD/PLN fell 0.10% to 3.8396.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.09% at 95.04.
