Investing.com – Poland stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Basic Materials and Food sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 fell 0.96%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Cyfrowy Polsat SA (WA:CPS), which rose 3.02% or 0.75 points to trade at 25.60 at the close. Meanwhile, TVN SA (WA:TVN) added 2.87% or 0.49 points to end at 17.55 and Eurocash SA (WA:EUR) was up 1.76% or 0.63 points to 36.43 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Gornictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA (WA:PGN), which fell 8.35% or 0.56 points to trade at 6.15 at the close. Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN SA (WA:PKN) declined 2.85% or 1.98 points to end at 67.43 and KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA:KGH) was down 2.60% or 3.40 points to 127.60.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 324 to 246 and 97 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for June delivery was down 1.62% or 0.98 to $59.52 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 1.05% or 0.70 to hit $66.56 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 0.36% or 4.40 to trade at $1222.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.70% to 4.0702, while USD/PLN fell 0.83% to 3.5799.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.11% at 93.64.
