Investing.com – Poland stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Information Technology, Basic Materials and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 fell 0.96% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP), which rose 2.70% or 2.07 points to trade at 78.80 at the close. Meanwhile, Gornictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA (WA:PGN) added 2.62% or 0.17 points to end at 6.67 and Eurocash SA (WA:EUR) was up 1.74% or 0.66 points to 38.66 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Asseco Poland SA (WA:ACPP), which fell 4.34% or 2.59 points to trade at 57.06 at the close. mBank SA (WA:MBK) declined 3.77% or 17.05 points to end at 435.00 and LPP SA (WA:LPPP) was down 2.97% or 217.50 points to 7102.50.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 313 to 210 and 115 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for July delivery was down 0.09% or 0.05 to $57.95 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 0.22% or 0.14 to hit $61.90 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.59% or 6.90 to trade at $1168.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.36% to 4.1563, while USD/PLN rose 0.79% to 3.7410.
The US Dollar Index was up 1.01% at 96.46.
