Investing.com – Poland stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Energy and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 declined 1.27% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Alior Bank SA (WA:ALRR), which rose 2.24% or 2.06 points to trade at 94.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP) added 1.49% or 1.14 points to end at 77.46 and TVN SA (WA:TVN) was up 1.36% or 0.24 points to 17.84 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were CCC SA (WA:CCCP), which fell 7.47% or 13.90 points to trade at 172.10 at the close. Bank Zachodni WBK SA (WA:BZW) declined 3.95% or 13.90 points to end at 337.80 and LPP SA (WA:LPPP) was down 3.49% or 255.00 points to 7050.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 312 to 228 and 114 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for July delivery was up 1.33% or 0.80 to $61.00 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 0.87% or 0.56 to hit $65.44 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.28% or 3.30 to trade at $1192.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.18% to 4.1230, while USD/PLN fell 1.69% to 3.7023.
The US Dollar Index was down 1.48% at 96.08.
