Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Motors, Power & Energy and Hotels & Travel sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share added 0.43% to hit a new 3-months high.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Colombo Investment Trust PLC (CM:CIT), which rose 19.00% or 19.00 points to trade at 119.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Galadari Hotels Lanka PLC (CM:GHLL) added 17.14% or 1.80 points to end at 12.30 and Royal Palms Beach Hotels PLC (CM:RPBH) was up 15.70% or 4.60 points to 33.90 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Kalamazoo Systems PLC (CM:KZOO), which fell 22.89% or 595.10 points to trade at 2005.00 at the close. Serendib Land PLC (CM:SLND) declined 22.13% or 468.80 points to end at 1650.00 and Shalimar Estates (CM:SHAL) was down 16.48% or 375.00 points to 1900.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 119 to 72 and 48 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for June delivery was up 1.90% or 0.88 to $47.09 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 1.99% or 0.95 to hit $48.78 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 0.82% or 10.45 to trade at $1283.15 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.15% to 210.240, while USD/LKR rose 0.29% to 146.515.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.01% at 94.59.
