Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Investment Trust, Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals and Construction & Engineering sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share lost 0.57%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Nation Lanka Finance PLC (CM:CSF), which rose 14.29% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.800 at the close. Meanwhile, Lighthouse Hotel PLC (CM:LHL) added 12.50% or 3.70 points to end at 33.30 and Huejay International Investments PLC (CM:HUEJ) was up 10.98% or 2.80 points to 28.30 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Adam Investments Ltd (CM:ADAM), which fell 50.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.100 at the close. Eastern Merchants PLC (CM:EMER) declined 8.16% or 0.40 points to end at 4.50 and J L Morison Sons & Jones (Ceylon) PLC (CM:MORI) was down 7.06% or 50.90 points to 670.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 89 to 54 and 52 ended unchanged.
Shares in Adam Investments Ltd (CM:ADAM) fell to all time lows; losing 50.00% or 0.100 to 0.100.
Crude oil for November delivery was down 1.90% or 1.39 to $71.78 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 2.18% or 1.81 to hit $81.28 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 1.27% or 15.20 to trade at $1208.60 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.03% to 226.220, while USD/LKR rose 0.02% to 171.290.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.39% at 94.85.
