Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Investment Trust, Telecoms and Motors sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share fell 0.21%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Blue Diamonds Jewellery Worldwide PLC (CM:BLUE), which rose 11.11% or 0.10 points to trade at 1.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Swarnamahal Financial Services PLC (CM:SWAR) added 11.11% or 0.100 points to end at 1.000 and CT Land Development PLC (CM:CTLD) was up 10.63% or 5.10 points to 53.10 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB), which fell 20.00% or 0.1000 points to trade at 0.4000 at the close. Equity Two PLC (CM:ETWO) declined 16.53% or 9.90 points to end at 50.00 and PCH Holdings PLC (CM:PCHH) was down 15.38% or 0.200 points to 1.100.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 118 to 68 and 59 ended unchanged.
Shares in SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB) fell to 5-year lows; losing 20.00% or 0.1000 to 0.4000. Shares in PCH Holdings PLC (CM:PCHH) fell to 52-week lows; falling 15.38% or 0.200 to 1.100.
Crude oil for April delivery was up 0.43% or 0.23 to $54.24 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in May rose 0.55% or 0.31 to hit $56.82 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.65% or 8.15 to trade at $1245.75 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.64% to 187.195, while USD/LKR fell 0.20% to 151.310.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.38% at 101.71.
