Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Electronic Parts/Components, Optoelectronic and Machinery sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted added 0.72%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Holy Stone Enterprise Co Ltd (TW:3026), which rose 9.94% or 16.00 points to trade at 177.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Yageo Corp (TW:2327) added 9.94% or 67.00 points to end at 741.00 and Min Aik Precision Industrial Co Ltd (TW:4545) was up 9.93% or 3.80 points to 42.05 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Airmate Cayman International Co Ltd (TW:1626), which fell 9.50% or 2.10 points to trade at 20.00 at the close. Avision Inc (TW:2380) declined 7.68% or 0.52 points to end at 6.25 and Kung Sing Engineering Corp (TW:5521) was down 5.45% or 0.70 points to 12.15.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 433 to 323 and 155 ended unchanged.

Shares in Airmate Cayman International Co Ltd (TW:1626) fell to all time lows; falling 9.50% or 2.10 to 20.00. Shares in Yageo Corp (TW:2327) rose to all time highs; up 9.94% or 67.00 to 741.00. Shares in Avision Inc (TW:2380) fell to all time lows; falling 7.68% or 0.52 to 6.25.
Crude oil for June delivery was up 1.05% or 0.73 to $70.45 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 0.98% or 0.73 to hit $75.60 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.07% or 0.90 to trade at $1313.80 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.32% to 29.774, while TWD/CNY fell 0.14% to 0.2137.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.12% at 92.53.
