Commodities Moving Averages

This table shows “Simple Moving Average” data for all the major Commodities. The “Moving Average” indicator is calculated by adding all closing prices over a certain period of days and dividing them by the durations on the drop down list. The table below gives data and buy sell signals based on up to 200 days history. You can select how smooth the “Moving Average” by selecting the time in the drop-down list- the shorter the period of time the more detailed the indicator.

Moving Averages Info
A “Moving Average” is an indicator which removes the “noise” from a chart by smoothing it. It makes it easier to see a pattern forming over time and helps predict future prices. There are several types of “Moving Average” indicators, one “smoother” than the other. The smoother the moving average line the less detailed the picture that is formed and the slower to react to price movement. The “Simple Moving Average Indicator” doesn’t take spikes into account and therefore does not give as accurate a picture as the “Exponential Moving Average”.
