Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Optoelectronic, Rubber and Plastic sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted added 0.50%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Elitegroup Com (TW:2331), which rose 10.00% or 2.05 points to trade at 22.55 at the close. Meanwhile, Roundtop (TW:1540) added 10.00% or 1.70 points to end at 18.70 and Champion Micro (TW:3257) was up 9.92% or 3.70 points to 41.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Hota Ind (TW:1536), which fell 6.30% or 7.50 points to trade at 111.50 at the close. Compeq Mftg (TW:2313) declined 6.01% or 1.40 points to end at 21.90 and Chilisin Elec (TW:2456) was down 5.27% or 2.50 points to 44.90.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 440 to 401 and 3 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for November delivery was down 0.21% or 0.10 to $46.16 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 0.03% or 0.01 to hit $49.23 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.05% or 0.60 to trade at $1138.20 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.88% to 32.753, while TWD/CNY rose 0.05% to 0.1946.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.09% at 96.14.
