Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the , Oil, Gas & Electricity and Other Electronic sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted fell 0.02%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Casetek Holdings Ltd (TW:5264), which rose 10.00% or 4.20 points to trade at 46.20 at the close. Meanwhile, Chuwa Wool Industry Co Taiwan Ltd (TW:1439) added 10.00% or 3.50 points to end at 38.50 and Tung Kai Technology Engineering Co Ltd (TW:3018) was up 9.96% or 2.65 points to 29.25 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Silergy Corp (TW:6415), which fell 6.98% or 30.00 points to trade at 400.00 at the close. Ennoconn Corp (TW:6414) declined 5.93% or 13.50 points to end at 214.00 and Jean Co Ltd (TW:2442) was down 5.37% or 0.80 points to 14.10.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 444 to 363 and 105 ended unchanged.
Shares in Silergy Corp (TW:6415) fell to 52-week lows; falling 6.98% or 30.00 to 400.00. Shares in Ennoconn Corp (TW:6414) fell to 3-years lows; losing 5.93% or 13.50 to 214.00.
Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.33% or 0.24 to $72.16 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.32% or 0.26 to hit $81.67 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.37% or 4.50 to trade at $1226.50 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.14% to 30.837, while TWD/CNY rose 0.04% to 0.2245.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.08% at 94.86.
