Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the , Oil, Gas & Electricity and Optoelectronic sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted lost 0.19%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Favite (TW:3535), which rose 9.97% or 1.75 points to trade at 19.30 at the close. Meanwhile, Taiwan Mask (TW:2338) added 9.92% or 1.20 points to end at 13.30 and Advanced Power (TW:8261) was up 9.38% or 2.10 points to 24.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Carry (TW:3054), which fell 4.42% or 1.00 points to trade at 21.65 at the close. Shuttle (TW:2405) declined 4.11% or 0.45 points to end at 10.50 and Powertech (TW:3296) was down 4.04% or 0.80 points to 19.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 374 to 367 and 137 ended unchanged.
Shares in Favite (TW:3535) rose to 3-years highs; rising 9.97% or 1.75 to 19.30. Shares in Taiwan Mask (TW:2338) rose to 3-years highs; up 9.92% or 1.20 to 13.30.
Crude oil for April delivery was down 0.17% or 0.09 to $54.36 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in April fell 0.16% or 0.09 to hit $56.49 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.17% or 2.15 to trade at $1253.55 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.03% to 30.733, while TWD/CNY rose 0.09% to 0.2242.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.04% at 100.99.
