Investing.com – Philippines stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Banking & Financials, Industrials and Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite added 0.13%.
The best performers of the session on the PSEi Composite were Metro Pacifi I (PS:MPI), which rose 3.80% or 0.160 points to trade at 4.370 at the close. Meanwhile, Jollibee Foods (PS:JFC) added 1.87% or 3.700 points to end at 202.000 and Globe Telecom (PS:GLO) was up 1.46% or 38.000 points to 2642.000 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were San Miguel Cor (PS:SMC), which fell 3.77% or 2.450 points to trade at 62.550 at the close. Gt Capital Hol (PS:GTCAP) declined 2.21% or 30.000 points to end at 1330.000 and Semirara Minin (PS:SCC) was down 1.97% or 3.0000 points to 149.0000.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Philippines Stock Exchange by 119 to 74 and 16 ended unchanged.
Shares in San Miguel Cor (PS:SMC) fell to 52-week lows; falling 3.77% or 2.450 to 62.550.
Gold for August delivery was down 0.42% or 5.00 to $1189.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.83% or 0.51 to hit $60.75 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.42% or 0.28 to trade at $65.22 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was up 0.20% to 7.2256, while USD/PHP rose 0.20% to 44.785.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.11% at 96.10.
